The majority of Melissa's training comes from hands on experience learning under some of the best chefs in this country! Your order will always be made fresh and to order, never frozen - freshest ingredients and local farmers are used at every possible opportunity. Melissa would be honored to be part of your family's milestones whether it be a birthday, wedding, retirement or family reunion. Also available for holiday parties and corporate events. You can now visit us at our storefront location!! The Bakery at ML Cakes and Catering officially opened November 10, 2020 at 11461 State Route 21 South, Wayland NY 14572. We offer a variety of freshly baked goods, breads and a breakfast and lunch menu! We hope to see you soon.
Our Story
I am a wife and a mother to two beautiful boys, I have always had a dream of having my own business and getting to be a part of people's special moments and events through Catering and Delectable Desserts.
I started my career at 14 in a local pizza shop, moved my way into the create a cake department with Wegmans at 16. From there I went onto the Culinary Institute Of America with a scholarship as a first-place winner in the All American Apple Pie Recipe Contest, where I obtained my Baking and Pastry Degree.
After graduation I went onto work for the DPS Sporting Club group at the Greenbrier Sporting Club in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia as the Assistant Pastry Chef. I then promoted to the Executive Pastry Chef for the Turks and Caicos Sporting Club on Ambergris Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI
After traveling with our family for a few years for my husband's work, I am pursuing my lifelong dream of owning my own business. Doing what I love baking and cooking, to cater for all types of events in peoples lives.
